10th july TV BUDDHAS + COMBINEHARVESTER
july 10th @ White Trash: TV BUDDHAS (IL) + COMBINEHARVESTER (CH)
TV BUDDHAS are mickey triest and juval haring, playing drums and electric guitar. their dance influenced mix of velvet underground and black sabbath has earned them praise all over europe in 08, a year in which they played over 170 shows across the continent. TVB use slim repetative stringy lines amplified through a bass and guitar amp, deep blusey vocals and a minimalistic drum set consisting of a floor tom, a snare and a cymbal. They play directly in your face on the floor, drentched in sweat and emotion. Hailing from Holon, Israel, they represent the upcoming indie scene from their country. We had them lately at White Trash before, but it was full and the space rather small, so be there in time, to see and hear something!
"TV Buddhas combine elements of dance, indian music and punk into their sound, which consists of two human beings yelling, one twin reverb+cab with enough reverb to kill an elephant, one floor tom, one snare drum and one ride cymbal. " incubate
"Unter minimalem Einsatz von Technik und Talent. Ein Feuerwerk! Eine Höllennummer! Man nehme Sonic Youth, mische etwas Black Keys darunter und erhitze das Ganze auf 100 Grad." biel is not rock city
"Die Instrumente sind auf das Wesentliche reduziert. Die israelische Band ist perfekt, der Sound enorm!" noe

COMBINEHARVESTER (A Tree In A Field Records)
Combineharvester is Marlon Mc Neill. "I write all songs and usually play all instruments. The songwriting process happens during the recording. I don‘t see my songs as rock songs in the traditional sense, more like music and sounds wrapped around little poems. Poems that may be as short as one line. One does not need many words to say what has to be said. People would probably stuff me in the Singer/Songwriter drawer because I sing and write songs. This doesn‘t sound like the classic Singer/Songwriter music, though sometime it does. Combineharvester get‘s it‘s inspiration from all sorts of places in the music universe. A song may end up being a 15 minute drone escapade or a 30 second almost acapella ditty. Everything is possible. One may see Combineharvester as a melting pot of all or some projects I‘m involved in, or the other way round: the source and inspiration to participate in all kinds of musical oddities." Combineharvester was part of the "casio-grind outfit" Trencher, with who he went on tour, lend his vocals for their album "Lips" (Southern Records/ Action Beat, Chrome Hoof et al.) and recorded a John Peel session in 2004.
"…a small and fine supergroup." basellandschaftliche zeitung
"Sein Drone-Sound wirkt haluzinogös und hat etwas Magisches." 78s
"So verwandelt sich Trencher in Syd Barrett." vice
